Busoga Girls Get Boost

BUSOGA Young Professionals Association (BYPA) has contributed sh6m towards the education of girls in Busoga in response to a call by the Kyabazinga, Henry Wako Muloki.

BYPA chairperson Suzanne Kavuma recently paid a courtesy call on the Kyabazinga at his palace at Nakabago in Jinja and told him that the funds were raised during a dinner held at Sheraton Kampala Hotel in May.“We are very happy to announce before you that the dinner held in May at the Rwenzori Ball room in Sheraton Hotel during which you launched the association with the objective of supporting girl child education raised sh6,244,900,” she said.She said the funding of the under privileged female students would begin next year with 10 girls selected from the five districts of Busoga. Busoga minister for information and the Kyabazinga’s representative to the association, Owen Kibenge, said a similar fundraising dinner would take place on August 18 at Kiwatule in Kampala. Ends
