Taxi drivers and owners have been given two months to update their taxis to standards required by the Police.

By Davis Weddi Taxi drivers and owners have been given two months to update their taxis to standards required by the Police.Uganda Taxi Owners and Drivers Association (UTODA) vice-chairman Chris Ssalongo Ssengooba recently this to over 200 taxi drivers at UTODA offices in Kibuye, off Entebbe road. He said, “By October 10, we should have implemented all these regulations as wanted by the Police. All the drivers will be required to adhere.”Ssengooba said they held the meeting with the Police chief of traffic and road safety.The taxi drivers were advised against tinted glasses and adverts on their vehicles.They were also warned against wearing caps, hats and the famous lugabire (tyre-sandals).
