KYENGERA outclassed Old Boys (OB) Association team yesterday in the final of a memorial soccer tournament for four top sports journalists who died last year.

Leading striker Frank Serumaga and Baker Mayanja struck within three minutes to put Kyengera ahead at Lugogo Rugby Club grounds. Charles Lubowa pulled one back for OB for a 2-1 first half deficit. Chris Njuki and Matthias Lutakome, who converted a penalty after interval, ensured victory for Kyengera. The one-day event, that drew ten teams, was held in memory of The New Vision’s Leo Kabunga, Peter Ekarot and Kenneth Matovu and Francis Batte Jr from The Monitor. The four died in a horrible road accident in Lugazi as they were driving back to Kampala after a meeting in Jinja. They had gone to negotiate sponsorship of the annual Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) gala with Nile Breweries officials.OB Association, a body that brings together young professionals and non professionals interested in soccer development, organised the tournament.Ends
