the Uganda Bus Operators Association (UBOA) Investments Ltd planned a joint venture with Skanska Jensen International to redevelop the Baganda Bus Park terminal.

Geoffrey Nangumya, the UBOA Investments director, told the parliamentary committee on works that “we were to enter into a joint venture with other financiers.”

But the MPs were riled when he said, “Business is speculative. The issue of financing was to come at a later stage.”

They demanded documentation showing that Skanska had accepted the proposal. They scrutinised the authenticity of documents tendered by the UBOA officials regarding the shareholders of the company.

They said the documents were tampered with and did not tally with those from the Registrar of Companies.

They demanded records showing how UBOA got the sh1m for buying their tender documents.

They asked why the tender award to UBOA was cancelled and reinstated. They gave UBOA up to Wednesday to produce the details.
