WITH their minuscule title challenge looking out of their grasp, KCC will at least find solace in prolonging SC Villa’s popping of the champagne bottle when the two giants clash tomorrow.
An ebullient feeling has exuded Lugogo after Sam Ssimbwa’s emphatic start of three wins, never mind how, and the players are showing revitalised belief in training.
Arua Garage, Heroes and Kasese have fallen recently and a fourth straight league win looks a good possibility — as is capturing one of three continental competition places.
One painful defeat, especially against a rival, could alter the perception of KCC old-boy Ssimbwa at Lugogo, turning cheers into jeers — a fact he will try to avoid.
New coach Ssimbwa has a good history against SC Villa, dating back to his days as a player in their 1991 Uganda Cup win.
He returned to haunt Villa as coach of Mbale Heroes in 1999, beating the Kampala giants in the cup and league.

- Police 2 Military 1
Maji 0 Iganga 1
Two more clubs were relegated from the Nile Special Super League after yesterday’s action. SCOUL and Kasese were the first to be relegated, adds Katende, Kajoba and Nampala.
At Kakindu, Police’s Joram Katende and Yusuf Kinene struck in either half to send Military Nile back into the first division. Military’s Patrick Gonza’s 66th minute could do little harm.
At Nakivubo, it needed a 73rd minute strike by Iganga’s Musa Kawuka to relegate Maji.
Iganga has to win one of its two remaining matches if they are to escape being one of five clubs for relegation.

Express v SCOUL

Today’s Express clash with relegated SCOUL at Nakivubo will bring back memories of the ill-tempered first round match between the two clubs at Kanyike stadium, Lugazi.
The first round clash on May 9 was abandoned at 1-1 after Express’ strong man Kassim Buyondo stormed SCOUL’s technical bench, inciting violence among the fans who stormed the pitch.
FUFA awarded the points to Express.
Today’s match will be Leo Adraa’s and SCOUL’s farewell from the Super Division.
