CASTROL GTD Independence rally defending champion Moses Lumala has opted out of the Equator rally in Mombasa, Kenya October 3-5 to concentrate on his title defence.
Lumala is one of four Ugandan drivers who had shown interest in competing in Kenya’s round of the Africa championship. The Castrol GTD rally is scheduled for October 26-27.
Emma Katto is the only Ugandan who has confirmed participation. Charlie Lubega and Kuku Ranjit are yet to confirm.
“I realised it was too expensive to go to Mombasa. I have decided to prepare for the Independence rally early enough,” the Caltex driver said.
