KCC will need an extra effort if they are to go past a composed Police full of youngsters in a Nile Special Super League encounter at Nakivubo Stadium today.
KCC, who boast several experienced players have managed to win three of their last four encounters, only losing to SC Villa. However, taking on a team that adores a technical approach and has built its morale will be a great test to Sam Ssimbwa, who is under pressure to win.
Police proved they are a team to reckon with when it took maximum points from defending champions Villa this season.
No comment could be secured from KCC’s technical bench but Police’s coach Paul Hasule could not mince his words for his love for maximum points.
“It is a battle of pressure. I have not seen KCC play ever since Ssimbwa took over but we want to improve our table standings,” he said.
The two teams settled for a one all draw in the first round action, which was also a league opener at the same venue.
Though Hasule has stayed on as Police’s head coach ever since, KCC has seen three changes from David Otti to Abbey Nasur and now Ssimbwa.
KCC’s good defence manned by Ronald Apangu, Shaka Okello, Francis Onyango and Kisha Jalendo will have to stop explosive Geoffrey Sserunkuma, who has been worth a goal per match in the past five games.
