GULU LC5 chairman Lt. Col. Walter Ochora has placed the blame for the current mayhem in the north squarely on the people from the region.
“The killing of the Acholi should not be blamed on other people beyond Karuma, but on we the northerners,†Ochora said.
He was speaking during celebrations to mark the 40th independence anniversary at Kaunda Grounds on Wednesday.
Ochora reminded celebrants that former president Idi Amin and Joseph Kony who have caused the greatest massacre and suffering in the region are themselves northerners.
Ochora said Kony who hails from Odek in Omoro county in Gulu district simply picked the baton from Amin to continue killing the innocent population.
