Renown African- American urban praise singer Alvin Slaughter arrives in the country today, at the invitation of Pastor Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Cathedral and Highway Of Holiness International Foundation.
Slaughter is here to perform for one night only performance in a musical extravaganza entitled ‘Heaven Will Kiss The Earth.’ Renown pianist Adlun Cruz and a bevy of over 20 local gospel artists and choirs are expected to perform with him tonight at Mandela Stadium, Namboole. The extravaganza will start at 7.00pm and it is free of charge.

Rubaga Miracle Cathedral Pastor Sam Nicholas told Vision Weekend in an earlier interview that the concert was part of general overnight prayers for peace in the nation. Slaughter, who is renown for leading praise and worship sessions will lead the team in worship.
Based in New York, Slaughter, a worship leader and vocalist has been an influential force in Gospel music, since his departure from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir in the early ‘90s. Slaughter began singing at national evangelistic crusades and major Christian conferences in May, 1991.
Today, a Dove Award gospel artist nominatee, Slaughter appears on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, broadcasted on Light House Television. Slaughter has five albums to his credit. These are: Champion of Love (1994), Revive Us Again (1995) God Can (1996), Yes (1997), and his latest Rain Down (2000), under the praise and worship music label Hosanna! Music.
As a music minister and recording artist, Slaughter has crossed racial and denominational barriers with the love of Christ, the heart of worship and the power of praise.
“My calling is that of a music minister, and leading worship is a large part of what I do. I perform songs that proclaim the Gospel, as well as songs that lead us into His presence through praise and worship,” says Slaughter.
“I believe that broken hearts will be mended, faith will be increased and joy will be restored as people experience my music.”
According to his website, Slaughter travels over 200,000 miles per year, performing over 180 concerts to audiences all over the United States, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, South Africa and the Caribbean.
With a growing international audience and a passionate desire to be used in ministry, many doors have been opened to spread God’s love around the world.
Overcoming battles of fear and failure, Slaughter now uses his music, his testimony and God’s word to build faith, heal the broken hearted and to help others experience the extravagant dimensions of God’s love for us.
“I was told many years ago by a very wise pastor that the most effective worship leaders are those who love to worship,” he says.
“Worship is contagious and I’m not ashamed to dance, shout, or sing before the Lord exuberantly. If others see my genuine passion to love, obey, and glorify the Lord, they might want to do the same,” he says on his site.
As a songwriter and a Stellar Awards nominee recording artist, Slaughter’s music is distributed in over 100 nations of the world through an exclusive recording agreement with Hosanna! Integrity, Inc., based in Mobile, Alabama.
Slaughter’s concerts are more than just concerts. They are an experience of the wonderful presence of God through upbeat melodies, powerful ballads, soul-stirring choruses and heart felt ministry.
“My desire during my concerts is for those who don’t know Jesus to find that he loves them and has an awesome plan for their lives. I also want to challenge Christians to embrace the truth. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Power to get out of defeat and stand on the mountain of victory. The love of Christ reaches past our failures and makes our lives victorious by the working of His spirit and through Jesus’ name,” he says on his site.
