Prince Max, one of our premiere reggae artists, is set for yet another album.
Entitled Back To Reality, Max’s eight-song project is expected out in March next year.
Promoter Humphrey Egesa, says the album is finished and ready.
However, like singer Kaweesa, Max and his promoters have decided to release single-for-single in the build up to the album’s final launch.
“By the time we launch in March, we want people to have got a chance to listen to most of the songs on the album, not just one song.
That way, we would be able to ensure the success of individual tracks and thereby the whole album in the long run.
The first single off the album, Seven Days, an English roots reggae song, has also been realised to radio stations and been awarded airplay by Capital FM, Radio Simba and Star FM.
It is hard to predict the performance of the track at this time, but Egesa is optimistic that Max will hit gold with this one.
Prince Max’s last album, Africa 2000, was launched last year at Cave 2000. Max was also slated to take ppart in an East Africa reggae carnival that never materialised.
Prince Max, fondly known in the country as ‘Uganda’s Lucky Dube’ for his astounding ability to mimic the South African singer, has been critiqued by industry pundits who say he is only good at Lucky Dube renditions.Ends
