UNRF II rebel leader Maj Gen Ali Bamuze on Monday for the first time met West Nile RDCs in Arua, reports Ahmed Angulibo.
The closed meeting chaired by Yumbe RDC Ahmed Mustafa Doka was held in the office of Arua RDC.
Doka told The New Vision after the meeting that the meeting was requested by Bamuze through the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal affairs, Eriya Kategaya.
“The agenda of the meeting was to familiarise himself with West Nile RDCs and also to explain his recent agenda for peace talks which he handed over to the Government in Kampala recently since RDCs did not have its copies,†Doka said. He said Bamuze assured the RDCs that he was committed to the peace talks and would soon start touring the West Nile region.
