Teddy Sseezi Cheeye, the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) deputy director in charge socio-economic monitoring, has abandoned the official office at Nakasero for a private suite.

Grace Matsiko and Felix Osike quote sources as saying Cheeye no longer goes to his office at the ISO headquarters.

He operates from Blacklines House on Colville Street where he runs the Uganda Confidential, the sources said.

Last month, ISO’s top governing committee recommended that Cheeye be suspended immediately for allegedly leaking the organisation’s secrets.

The committee said the CID should investigate him with the view of prosecuting him.

Cheeye, a journalist cum security agent, had earlier in his Uganda Confidential accused ISO chief Brig. Henry Tumukunde of protecting organisations under probe over corruption, diverting the organisation’s funds and disrespect to President Yoweri Museveni.

“I have left that place. I operate from my office on Blacklines,” Cheeye told The New Vision recently.

He said he reports directly to the President. Lt. Charlie Tumuheirwe, a much more senior officer, heads Cheeye’s department.
