A KIGALI-KATUNA Express coach rammed into a small car on Monday at Kaddugala, 11 kilometres on the Masaka-Kampala highway, killing two people instantly.
The accident occurred during a drizzle at mid-day when a speeding Jaguar Coach number UAD 530T crashed a Toyota Carina, number 063 UAI.
The driver, Douglas Kuhereza, a businessman working in Owino market was killed and his body got trapped in the car wreckage.
The other occupant, a lady whose name was not readily available also died on the spot. James Kasana Ssemwogerere, a matooke dealer of Kalerwe, Kampala was rushed to Masaka hospital in a critical state. He sustained deep wounds on the head and stomach.
Witnesses said the car driver moving from Kampala was trying to dodge a bodaboda cyclist but failed to control the vehicle.
The speeding coach hit the car, skidded off the road and rolled into a trench after its two front tires burst.
Its driver was slightly injured but the other passengers in the coach were not hurt. Ends
