SOUTH African golfer David Fisher carded 141 nett to snatch a surprise victory in the Arua Open on Sunday.

“I am surprised, I played well but did not think I would be a winner,” Fisher said after his win.
Fisher, playing off handicap 8, carded 72 nett on Saturday and 69 on Sunday to claim his first Uganda Golf Union (UGU) title.

Ruth Okwele was runner up at 144.

In a bid to add colour to the event, UGU moved the event from Arua’s West Nile Club course to Kampala’s Kitante.
