THE race for the Yakobo pool Cup resumes today with Jonah Damba and Steven Sentongo meeting in the first semi-final.

Action will be held at Yakobo Joint in Ntinda starting at 5.00pm. Kevin Katto and Moses Kiggundu will meet in the second semi-final on Sunday.

The first semi final pits the top title contenders. They have had a brilliant run since the event started last month.

Damba and his rival advanced after making easy work of the quarter-final opponents. Damba beat Robert Mukasa 6-2 sets before Ssentongo saw off Norris Baguma by a similar score.

Katto ejected Chris Nyarwaya 6-5 while Kiggundu eliminated Emma Mayege 6-2. The winner of the event that drew 120 players will walk away with sh500,000.

The first runner up will earn sh250,000, the second runner up is assured of sh100,000 while the third runner up will get sh50,000.

Adam Sebbi, the tournament organiser said the final is scheduled for November 30.
