The UPDF 2nd division commander, Col. Potel Kivuna, has said there are no rebels operating in western Uganda as news reports have implied.
Allan Turyaguma reports that Kivuna on Thursday said the ADF were repulsed and the remnants were in Ituri forest in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Some local media reported about a fortnight ago that the UPDF had had a clash with ADF remnants in Bundibugyo.
Kivuna took journalists for a walk about 12km into Ituri forest to a place where about 43 suspected ADF rebels were killed and scores wounded by the UPDF late last month. Ends
