MARY Jeffers, the spokesperson of the US embassy in Uganda, recently told Muslims attending a Ramadhan seminar that her government is being responsible by leading the war against terror.
“In my career, I have worked in some of the Arab states. I have been in Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Tunisia but I don’t agree with some of these policies. I believe it’s the responsibility of my government to be representative,†Jeffers said.
She said the stand-off between the US and Iraq, untill recently has been prompted by the events of September 11.
Jeffers said the Iraq crisis was one of the many reactions to the terror events in the US.
During the debate, Muslims expressed concern over US government foreign policy in the Arab world.
