A CHINESE Hides and Skins dealer is in Kampala to testify in a sh700m suit filed against city tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba’s hides and skins company, reports Jude Etyang.
Beeny Cheungi Chi Wai, a trader with Arzignano leather Company which sued Basajjabala, appeared before Justice James Ogoola yesterday.
The hearing did not start due to a preliminary application on security of costs.
Wai came with Sunny Wong, a marine cargo surveyor, also a witness in the case in which Arzignano accused Basajjabalaba of not supplying hides worth of the money claimed.
Basajjabalaba, through Wilfred Niwagaba and Mwebesa, successfully applied to court to order Arzignano a Hong Kong-based company, to pay sh12m as security of legal costs.
Arzignano accuses Bassajjabala’s company of causing it loss of profits and earnings and for breach of contract. Ends
