MOVEMENT caucus chairman Lt. Jimmy Kinobe has said his current stand off with the director of information at the Movement Secretariat, Ofwono Opondo is a temporary setback that will not break the system, reports Frederick Kiwanuka.
“These are temporary setbacks. These are cracks in the working relationship. These are things that will not undermine the movement,” he said in Luweero while addressing chaka mchaka course participants at Butuntumula sub-county headquarters in Katikamu county.
Kinobe said movement opponents were amused over the utterances by Ofwono Opondo that he had solicited a bribe from Luweero CAO, Simon Mpiira, thinking that the stand-off between the two movement heavy weights would break the system.
He asked Ofwono to resign for tarnishing his reputation. “I want Ofwono Opondo to commit himself and go ahead to substantiate his allegations or else should resign. He should pay the price for tarnishing my reputation,” Kinobe said.
