The Eagle lands at the River Nile

At about 2:00pm, the Eagle flapped its wings and flew out of its nest. And guess what, it just landed into people’s stomachs.

At about 2:00pm, the Eagle flapped its wings and flew out of its nest. And guess what, it just landed into people’s stomachs.

Last Friday was the day the Nile Breweries decided to come up with yet another quality brand in the name of Eagle Lager. For you people who were here in the 1970s, you definitely remember Serena. Eagle beer is just like Serena beer only that this time, it’s clean drinking, we were ably informed. Eagle is another beer made out of local sorghum.

For you beer drinkers, the Eagle Larger is probably your best Christmas gift for it a mere sh800. The media covering the event were first treated to a special lunch at the Najjembe Mabira Forest camp where the company officials took off time to explain everything about their new innovation and how much they have invested in the new brand. Afterwards, it was a dash to Njeru, the home of Nile Breweries .

Isaac Musumba, Minister of State for Planning, was the chief guest and he went ahead to announce that the new frothy stuff had been launched. He didn’t taste it though. He called out his colleague in the cabinet, Richard Nduhuura, to confirm the new cause to celebrate the taste of goodness to the amusement of Daniel Niemandt, the MD of Nile Breweries.

The guests included the Mayor of Jinja, David Wakudumira and the Emorimor of Teso. The rest were just farmers who are about to smile all the way to the bank (because of their sorghum) and Nile Breweries staff.

As was expected with every launch, the beer flowed and of course there was a lot of food to eat away till late in the evening.
