CECAFA secretary Nicholas Musonye will tour Uganda January 2 on invitation by Federation of Uganda Football Associations.
Musonye confirmed the itinerary on Saturday saying FUFA president Dennis Obua had clarified the date of his arrival.
“Don't expect that the visit will be to vilify Obua and FUFA for their failure to attend CECAFA congress in Mwanza last month, but it will be purely a friendly one,” he said.
He said top on the agenda will be preparations for the CECAFA Club Championships that Uganda will host January 25-February 8.
The three group event will be played in Kampala and Mbale with SC Villa and Express to be based in Kampala with an aim of generating good revenue for FUFA.
Last Wednesday Musonye said Obua's failure to attend the CECAFA congress was a big let down to both the Council and Ugandans.
A day later, FUFA secretary Haruna Mawanda sent an appeal to Kagame Cup sponsor through CECAFA secretariat to help them finance the organisation of the CECAFA club championships.
Thirteen teams have confirmed participation of the event.
Villa won for Uganda in 1987 while Kampala City Council is the other Ugandan club to have clinched the cup in 1978.
