THE Electoral Commission has suspended local council elections in several parishes in 10 more districts, just a day after it did the same in 23 parishes in Kumi.

By Vision Reporter THE Electoral Commission has suspended local council elections in several parishes in 10 more districts, just a day after it did the same in 23 parishes in Kumi.Commission chairman Aziz Kasujja said in a statement yesterday the commission has suspended polls for the LC3 chair in Kisomoro sub-county in Kabarole and Buhehe sub-county in Busia.Kasujja also suspended polls for the chairperson, the directly elected councillor and the woman councillor in Namukonga parish (Kapyanga, Bugiri) and Ikulwe parish (Mayuge Town Council). He also suspended the polls for the directly elected councillors and woman councillor in Nyamitunzi and Kitayihuka, Nyankwanzi, Kyenjojo).Kasujja said the polls for directly elected councillor for Budima, Lubani, and Nakakulwe (Butagaya, Jinja) and Watuba, and Nangabo (Nangabo, Wakiso), as well as Nsala (Rwamata, Kiboga) have also been suspended.He said women councillor elections for Nkandwa (Kibiga, Kiboga), Nshenyi (Rukiri, Ntungamo), and Bulugo (Buyengo, Jinja) have also been postponed.Ends
