THE 22-man think-tank appointed by the Movement chairman, Yoweri Museveni to chart a way forward for the country’s political systems held its first meeting in Kampala on Saturday.Richard Mutumba reports that the meeting chaired by the National Political Commissar, Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, worked out the modalities and laid out the strategies for the task. Local government minister and a key supporter of political reform, Jaberi Bidandi Ssali did not attend the preliminary meeting. He said he lost a relative and had gone for burial. The Special Presidential Advisor, Maj. Kakooza Mutale, told The New Vision that he did not attend the meeting. He gave no reason. “Ask the NPC why I did not attend,” Kakooza, who was voted the worst man of 2001 retorted.The think tank includes First Deputy Premier Eriya Kategaya; Bidandi Ssali, Kakooza Mutale; Attorney General Francis Ayume; Movement Caucus chairman Lt. James Kinobe and Human Rights Commissioner Fr. A. Waligo, among others.The committee is composed of ministers and MPs who will present findings in three months effective last December 18.Ends
