By John NzinjahTHE Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Mubajje, has challenged Muslims in in the country to work for peace and reconciliation.“Any Muslim, who engages in subversive acts which do not promote reconciliation is really not a true Muslim,” Mubajje said on Wednesday while addressing Muslims at Kistwamba, Kasese district. Mubajje is touring the country, the first of its kind since he was elected Mufti early last year.He conveyed his condolences to Kasese residents over the atrocities inflicted on them by the ADF rebellion. The ADF rebels, who invaded the country from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, led by people who had Muslim names and forced their captives to convert to Islam. Mubajje urged the people to work closely and forget the religious differences in order to restore what was destroyed by the ADF rebellion.President Yoweri Museveni, while in Kasese last year, declared an end to the ADF rebellion.
