NEW records! This is what was realised as this year’s Bika football and netball edition climaxed with the finals at Nakivubo stadium on Saturday.

This is what was realised as this year’s Bika football and netball edition climaxed with the finals at Nakivubo stadium on Saturday.The crowd estimated at over 16,000 was a new high at the stadium and in the Bika edition, it was in the 1998 finals which climaxed with Lugave lifting their first trophy after beating Ngabi.“We have taken long without seeing such a crowd,” commented Bika Football general secretary Luyimbazzi Mugalu after the match that grossed sh10.2m, another record since the highest was sh10m in the 1998 final.They had paid sh1,000 not only to support their teams but also to show their for the Kabaka Ronald Mutebi who was accompanied by Katikiro Joseph Ssemwogerere.The fans joyfully waved and clapped as the jeep passed by at a walking speed. Mmamba ladies, who beat Lugave 43-28, lifted the netball trophy for the record sixth time. Nkima and Mbogo have lifted the trophy four times each.In football, Lugave who shot out Nkima also lifted the trophy for a record sixth time.Mmamba have lifted it five times while Ngeye and Nkima have lifted it three times each.
