RICHARD Apire’s banking skills will be an asset as he steers Uganda Squash Rackets Association (USRA) for the next two years, reports Phillip Corry. The banker was elected unopposed during USRA’s general assembly last Saturday at Kampala Club.Augustine Lusiba scooped the post of vice chairman in similar fashion. Others elected included Rosette Kebba replacing secretary Simon Kajubu, who consoled himself with a post of executive member. The post of treasurer went to Robert Mpagi. Executive members are Martin Fowler and John Magezi. The old executive headed by Oscar Kihika had previously called for four general assemblies, which failed due to lack of quorum.“We will be holding our first executive meeting the coming weekend and top on the agenda will be the completion of our structure, that is the glass back court,” Kajubu said. “There is also need to revive the sport. We want to have more activities this year and we are looking for more companies to come in and sponsor our events,” he added. The past executive had been illegally in office for the last four years.ends
