PASCAL Owor continued his conquest for the European athletics circuit by winning the 800m at the Luxembourg national championships on Sunday.

By Norman Katende PASCAL Owor continued his conquest for the European athletics circuit by winning the 800m at the Luxembourg national championships on Sunday.The Bombo SS student racing in the ‘A’ category clocked 1:47.58 to win, beating David Fiegen (1:47.95) his training partner to second position.It was sweet revenge for the Ugandan as seven days ago in Malmo, Fiegen had beaten him to second place and a silver medal. If Owor continues with his good performance, he could make the national team to the Commonwealth Games.“It is surprising that he is improving steadily. I am sure that he will do it (qualify for the Commonwealth Games),” said Beatrice Ayikoru -UAAF assistant general secretary.“This international training is good for our athletes,” added Ayikoru on receiving the news yesterday.Owor is expected to compete in the B series permit races starting this weekend. Athletics coach Fiegen Romain from Luxembourg is sponsoring his trip and training. Owor started training last month.ends
