GREEN HILL Academy has for the third year running, emerged the best in Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in Kampala and the surrounding districts, according to a survey conducted by The New Vision.

St. Savio Junior School, which ranked fifth last year, came second with 66 (95.6%) of the 69 candidates obtaining first grade and the rest second grade, according to computations based on first grade passes and not the performance index.Sir Apollo Kaggwa PS came third with 108 or 92% of the 118 candidates passing in first grade.Of the 142 candidates who sat from Lohana Academy, 128 (90.1%) of them passed in first grade and the rest in second, while Kabojja Junior School recorded 90.2%. A total of 37 of the 41 candidates passed in first grade.Budo Junior School, which had two among the top five candidates in Wakiso district, had 193 or 86.1% of the 224 candidates in first grade followed by Namagunga Girls’ Boarding Primary with 85.3% or 105 of the 123 candidates in first grade. Namagunga also produced two of the five top candidates in Mukono.City Parents School which broke off from Kampala Parents had 178 (84%) of the 212 candidates in first grade.The Aga Khan Primary School recorded 68 (82%) of the 83 candidates in first grade followed by Namugongo Girls Boarding School with 123 (81.2%) of the 151 candidates in division one and the remainder in division two. Namugongo had Grace P. Mukunzi among the top five candidates in Wakiso district. At Kireka Grammar school, 57 (66.2%) of the 86 candidates passed in first grade.Of the Universal Primary Education schools in Kampala, Kitante Primary topped with 72.2% of the candidates in the first grade. It was followed by Nakasero with 261 first graders (62.4% of the 418 candidates). Next was Buganda Road with 62% in the first grade.Ends
