Mbarara CAO denies Byanyima

Mbarara district Chief Administration Officer, Hezzy Kafureka, has refuted press reports that he was compromised by the Mbarara Municipality Member of Parliament, Winnie Byanyima, when he announced the parliamentary elections results, reports Ebenezer Bifubyeka. “There has been loose talk regarding what was said in court by Byanyima’s rival, Ngoma Ngime’s lawyers that I, as the Returning Officer, was compromised by Byanyima,” he said.Kafureka said this on Friday during a press conference at his office in Kamukuzi near Mbarara town.“I challenge lawyers of Mr. Ngime to make the allegations outside court,” he said. He said his lawyers were pursuing the matter. Kafureka added that what was reported in the press had no foundation whatsoever.
