By Phillip CorryALISTER Bush was a class apart on the waters of Lake Victoria as he won the Uganda Laser Open sailing regatta on Sunday at Kaazi.The Naivasha-based sailor staved off a challenge of 51 sailors that included 24 other guest sailors at the biggest event ever to be hosted by Victoria Nyanza sailing club. Simon Woods from Kenya completed a 1-2 finish for the guest sailors with Uganda’s Stephen Luswata salvaging some pride for the local sailors by finishing third.“What do you want me to say. I didn’t expect to win this event,†Bush said after the race. “It has been sheer luck, the fleet was very strong and the quality of laser sailors has tremendously improved.†The two-day regatta that comprised seven races was sponsored by South African Airways.
