Dr Seezi is a scandal to the profession!

SIR—I was dismayed by Dr Charles Seezi's barbaric and scandalous suggestions of how to control Aids. One wonders why a doctor who has sworn to the Hippocratic oath to treat the sick and keep them from harm and injustice would betray his profession and duty to such levels as to suggest victimisation of fellow humans already victimised by the disease. Do I need to remind Seezi that Aids is not only a result of risky sexual behaviour but can be acquired by a faithful spouse from an unfaithful partner, can be acquired by an innocent baby from an infected parent or by a victim of rape who is again victimised by the disease and now again by Dr Seezi? Is Dr. Seezi aware of the available therapies used to treat, control and manage Aids better than many other diseases we have today? Uganda’s campaign against Aids has done wonders without descending to Dr Seezi's inhuman suggestions. Whatever illness I may contract, I hope I never have to be treated by this man. He is a scandal to the medical profession and ought to be watched.Philip AligawesaWashington DC.
