The Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala has transferred top police officers.

Katumba Wamala has transferred top police officers.He has also made the Marines department, a separate unit from the Mobile Police Patrol Unit.The Acting Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police in-charge of administration, Mr. Eric Turyatunga, told the New Vision yesterday that the Marines unit had been restructured and it would be headed by Joseph Katuramu, who has been the DPC, Jinja Road Police Station.Jackson Drazza, who has been heading the Marines department as officer in- Charge, becomes a deputy in the restructured Marines Unit which is to monitor the water bodies.Police spokesman Asuman Mugenyi said the other transfers took effect on March 8, 2002.Eric Naigambi, who has been DPC Rukungiri, goes to Masaka as a Regional Staff Officer.DPC Entebbe F. Arengo moves to Mbarara as Staff Officer while Fabian Drazzi moves from Kibaale to Jinja as Regional Staff Officer. Wilson Kwanya, who has been the OC information room Kampala, goes to Mbarara as DPC while Akol Ejogu moves from Mbarara to Rukungiri as DPC.Wilfred Kwesiga shifts from Fort Portal to Kasese as DPC, Pius Mutabazi moves from Kasese to Jinja Road as DPC, Pontius Barisigara leaves Mbarara staff office for Mubende.Others are Morris Leku from Mubende to Kibaale and Joseph Obwana from Entebbe to Kamuli as OC/CID.Ends
