Mukono Gets New Bishop

THE house of bishops sitting at Lweza, Kampala, on Entebbe Road, recently elected the Rev. Canon Paul Luzinda as the new Bishop of Mukono diocese.

Canon Paul Luzinda as the new Bishop of Mukono diocese.Luzinda has been heading the Deeba archdeaconry in Mukono diocese for over 10 years. The election follows the retirement of Bishop Michael Senyimba from the diocese after clocking 65 years.The Church of Uganda retirement age for bishop’s is 65 years. “I am retiring officially in June this year after clocking 65 years. That is when I will hand over instruments of power,’’ Ssenyimba said.He hailed Christians in the diocese for supporting him in his work. The enthronement of Luzinda is scheduled to be at Mukono St Phillips Cathedral on June 30.Ends
