By Vision ReporterSEX workers’ advocate Stella Nambuya yesterday said media houses are ridiculing sex workers because the houses are insensitive to the suffering oppressed women.Nambuya said the issue of women parading on the streets should be treated with the seriousness it deserves instead of being made a subject for lewd jokes. She was reacting to The New Vision cartoon that depicted her as selling sex in a take-away on Women’s Day.The cartoon was a follow-up on the story in Sunday Vision in which she was reported to have said that eligible husbands are becoming increasingly rare, and that young women are being left to starve sexually.Nambuya once threatened to sue Kampala City Council for arresting sex workers.Ends
