Police Hunt For Defilers

MBARARA Police are hunting for suspects who allegedly defiled at least seven pupils of Ngarama Church of Uganda Primary School in Ngarama, Bukanga, Mbarara, reports Ebenezer Bifubyeka.The officer-in-charge of the Criminal Investigations Department at Mbarara Police Station, Jonathan Edoku, said they arrested one suspect, only identified as Nduhukire, last week but he escaped.He told the press that the defiled girls are aged 16 years and below. Edoku said they had registered one case of a primary six pupil, who allegedly had an abortion last week at Mbarara University Teaching Hospital. However, Edoku said when the Police went to the school for investigations, six girls who were allegedly defiled got shy and ran away. He said the Police consequently found it difficult to establish the exact number of the victims.Ends
