POLICE in Iganga have arrested three people including a herbalist on suspicion of desecrating a grave of a woman who died three years ago and allegedly took her remains.

By Moses NampalaPOLICE in Iganga have arrested three people including a herbalist on suspicion of desecrating a grave of a woman who died three years ago and allegedly took her remains.The incident occurred on Monday night at Bunyangwe, Ivukula sub-county in Iganga district.The deceased was identified by the Police as Lukowe Kaire who died in September 1999.Police officer Moses Mpanuka said those arrested included Mukasa Mudhasi, the herbalist, Richard Maidha and Charles Mukumune.Mpanuka said they would be charged with trespass to a burial ground with intent to wound the feelings of the deceased’s relatives.David Kijali, son of the late Lukowe, told the Police that on Tuesday morning he was going to weed in his garden when he discovered that the grave of her mother had been desecrated.Residents converged at the scene of the desecrated grave after a shocked Kijali, allegedly sounded a deafening alarm.The Police was told that the residents were said to have spotted footmarks of the suspected culprits on the wet ground.Ends
