PRIME Minister Prof. Apolo Nsibambi was yesterday admitted to Mulago Hospital due to hypertension.

By John KakandePRIME Minister Prof. Apolo Nsibambi was yesterday admitted to Mulago Hospital due to hypertension.One of the Prime Minister’s senior aides told The New Vision yesterday that doctors at Mulago were last evening trying to stabilise his blood pressure.The aide said Nsibambi was admitted in Ward 6B yesterday afternoon. No details about his condition were given. Efforts to get a comment from the Director of Mulago Hospital Dr Lawrence Kaggwa or the Minister of Health Brig. Jim Muhwezi were all fruitless.Nsibambi had been expected to attend a meeting of the Movement Parliamentary Caucus at the Uganda International Conference Centre yesterday, but was unable to do so. Until yesterday when he was hospitalised, the Prime Minister has been carrying out his duties normally. He represented President Yoweri Museveni at the Labour Day national celebrations at Kololoss b airstrip on May 1. He also attended Parliament as well as a meeting of the Movement Parliamentary Caucus on Thursday evening.Ends
