UNICEF has opened four day-care centres in Kasese district as a strategy to fight the high rate of malnutrition, writes a Vision Reporter.

UNICEF has opened four day-care centres in Kasese district as a strategy to fight the high rate of malnutrition, writes a Vision Reporter. This was disclosed on Monday by a Kasese district community development officer, Betty Mbambu, at the opening of a workshop for community development field workers.The field workers are from four pilot sub-counties where day-care centres have been opened. Mbambu said the centres would be equipped by UNICEF. Parents will be expected to drop children aged between two to six years in the morning and collect them in the evening.She said the sub-counties include Kitholhu, Kyondo, Kilembe and Kitswamba, where malnutrition is higher than other places in Kasese district.Ends
