First students graduate from Busoga varsity

THE Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom, Henry Wako Muloki has urged his subjects to support higher institutions of learning in the region.

By Robert Kanusu THE Kyabazinga of Busoga Kingdom, Henry Wako Muloki has urged his subjects to support higher institutions of learning in the region.He was addressing the first congregation of Busoga University where 64 students graduated at the university campus in Iganga on Friday.Muloki said education was the major key to development and urged the leaders to mobilise support to enable the infant higher institutions of learning in the region to develop.“It is our duty as people who have seen some progress to join hands and empower our institutions in all aspects. This way, Busoga will regain its former glory,” he said.He urged the graduands to work hard while serving the nation. The former Chief justice, Wako wambuzi, who was also installed as the chancellor replacing Prof. Asavia wandira, vowed to develop the university into a big Institution in the region.The vice-chancellor, Prof Igaga Ngobi, appealed to the Government to set up a bursary scheme for poor students.Ends
