Get off IGP’s back, will you?

SIR—Bureaucracy should have its limits. I hope minister Gerald Ssendaula is not thinking of taxing IGP katumba Wamala’s donations. Policemen are ill-equipped and live in sub-human conditions and the government can do nothing about it because of poverty. When, for the first time, an IGP with vision and initiative comes up with a practical idea, Ssendaula suddenly remembers Katumba is not authorised to collect money. Surely, we have already seen the pick-ups the money has purchased. If the government were able to do what it ought to do, katumba would have no business fundraising for the police.
