Get off IGP’s back, will you?

SIR—Bureaucracy should have its limits. I hope minister Gerald Ssendaula is not thinking of taxing IGP katumba Wamala’s donations.

SIR—Bureaucracy should have its limits. I hope minister Gerald Ssendaula is not thinking of taxing IGP katumba Wamala’s donations. Policemen are ill-equipped and live in sub-human conditions and the government can do nothing about it because of poverty. When, for the first time, an IGP with vision and initiative comes up with a practical idea, Ssendaula suddenly remembers Katumba is not authorised to collect money. Surely, we have already seen the pick-ups the money has purchased. If the government were able to do what it ought to do, katumba would have no business fundraising for the police. Kindly, Mr Ssendaula, get off Katumba’s back, you have no point.J. MbaroraburoraKampala
