ARCHBISHOP Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo yesterday criticised people who verbally sympathise with others in trouble but do not offer any material assistance, reports Geresom Musamali.Nkoyooyo said during the Martyrs Day commemoration at the Namugongo Church of Uganda Shrine that verbal sympathies should go hand in hand with material assistance, however little it may be, to alleviate the suffering of those in trouble.“Empty sympathies cannot help much. What you need is to sympathise verbally and throw in some material contribution to alleviate the suffering of your fellow human being,” Nkoyooyo said.He urged everyone to continue praying for peace to prevail in parts of Uganda where war still lingered but said the prayers should be accompanied by material assistance to the displaced people. Present were Busoga Kyabazinga Wako Muloki, Kampala mayor Ssebaana Kizito, and Uganda Christian University, Mukono, vice-chancellor Prof. Stephen Nole.Ends
