By Vision ReporterCONSTRUCTION work on a sh300m bridge aimed at connecting Ibanda and Kyanya trading centres has began. Kyanya is found in Busongora North constituency, Kasese district, while Ibanda is a town in Mbarara. The project is funded by Kasese Cobalt Company Limited (KCCL) which last week released sh620m as contribution to Kasese local government rural development programme.According to Maliba sub-county administrative chief, William Bwambale, the people on the foot of the Rwenzori mountains in Maliba and residents of Bughoye sub-county had described the bridge as the Biblical manna from heaven.“The people in that area had never dreamed that a bridge would be built across River Mubuku in that part of Kasese,” Bwambale said.He said the bridge helped farmers from the mountains transport their produce to markets on the lower lands.Maliba sub county chairman, Sam Sikabyaholho, thanked the President for inviting foreign investors into the country.Ends
