Ssempijja Papers Genuine â€" Bukenya

By Dismus BuregyeyaTHE Acting Uganda National Examinations Board secretary, Matthew Bukenya, has told the High Court in Masaka that the disputed academic transcripts of the Masaka district LC5 chairman, Vincent Ssempijja, are genuine.Bukenya yesterday testified before Lady Justice Solome Bbosa in a petition filed by Dr. Shannon Kakungulu seeking the nullification of Ssempijja’s election victory over allegations that his academic qualifications were fake.Bukenya, who was backed by the Police examiner on documents, Samuel Ezat, said Ssempijja’s original certificates from St. Charles Lwanga Kasasa (O Level) and Caltec Academy (A Level) had been approved by the East African Examination Council.Bbosa objected to plea by Kakungulu’s counsel Lukwago and Alak Co. Advocates demanding Bukenya to provide the file, which reflects Ssempijja as having sat his primary leaving exams in 1974 the same year he is indicated as having sat his O Level exams. She said the primary seven issue should not come in Bukenya’s testimony because it was not reflected in his sworn affidavit.Ends
