THE redevelopment of the State House in Entebbe is estimated to cost US$42m (over sh75b), the Minister of Works, Housing and Communications, John Nasasira, has said.

By Joyce Namutebi THE redevelopment of the State House in Entebbe is estimated to cost US$42m (over sh75b), the Minister of Works, Housing and Communications, John Nasasira, has said.This was contained in his ministry’s policy statement to Parliament.Nasasira said the three construction phases were estimated to cost US$42m for over a period of five years beginning in the 2002/2003 financial year.He said the first phase estimated to cost US$13m would be implemented with construction commencing in January 2003 and completed by December 2004.On the Parliament Building, Nasasira said following the completion of the rehabilitation of phase three at a revised cost of US$5.3m the rehabilitation of the rest of the works estimated to cost US$28m would be pursued beginning with phase four estimated at US$700,000.
