By John Odyek The Lord’s Resistance Army rebels have orders to behead Lt. Col. Walter Ochora, the Gulu LC5 chairman, and Max Omeda, the Resident District Commissioner, and take their heads to their leader, Joseph Kony. The Rupiny newspaper reported yesterday that LRA sent orders to two of their leaders that the heads of the two government officials were wanted quickly. The rebels also plan to capture Gulu barracks, key enterprises in Gulu, the home of Ochora and burn down all Uganda Peoples Defence Force barracks and detachments.Rupiny, a sister paper of the New Vision, quoted Omeda as saying the rebels first sent the assassination messages through a woman hailing from Ato hills in Omoro county, southern Gulu. Omeda said he was in the bush with Kony and if he wanted to kill him he was free to attempt but should bear in mind that he (Omeda) was a strong man.He said he looked after Kony and Otii Lagony during the peak of fighting in Soroti against government troops. Lagony, a senior LRA official, was killed by Kony two years ago.Omeda said he would fight LRA the way Brazil fought to win the World Cup last month.Ochora said if the rebels wanted to kill him, he was prepared to face them. He prayed for the LRA to come out of hiding.Rupiny reported that Kony was planning to attack and burn down all UPDF barracks and detachments to avenge the destruction of their camps in southern Sudan. The rebels have burnt down UPDF barracks at Cwero, Patongo, Lacekocot and Aminawobi. The key enterprises the rebels want to capture are Acholi Inn, Opit Travellers Inn and GUSCO. The rebels have burnt over 1,000 civilian houses in Acholi and Lango.Ends
