Kampala resident district commissioner Godfrey Kiwanuka Musisi has proposed that local government officials who do not remit percentage shares of revenue to lower local councils (LCs) be arrested and imprisoned.

Kampala resident district commissioner Godfrey Kiwanuka Musisi has proposed that local government officials who do not remit percentage shares of revenue to lower local councils (LCs) be arrested and imprisoned.Jonathan Angura reports that Musisi said it was the inefficiency by the higher LC members that resulted in poor service delivery to the taxpayers.He said it created problems in mobilisation of people and tax collection.Musisi was presenting a paper on the role of local councils in revenue mobilisation to Pallisa district council members during a budget seminar held at Pal and Lisa secondary school main hall on Wednesday. Participants at the three-day seminar included the RDC, Geoffrey Kyomukama and his deputies, district councillors, and the chief administrative officer. Ends
