DISO On Robbery Charges

THE Rukungiri chief magistrate on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for the Rukungiri District Internal Security Officer (DISO).

By William BakandemaTHE Rukungiri chief magistrate on Wednesday issued an arrest warrant for the Rukungiri District Internal Security Officer (DISO).Jamada Kyewalabye was charged with simple robbery contrary to section 272 and 273 (1) of the Penal Code Act.Prosecution led by the Rukungiri resident state attorney Fred Waminda alleged that on April 11, at Nyarwimuka, Ruhinda sub-county in Rukungiri, the DISO robbed David Kagarura of sh63,400 using violent means. The chief magistrate, Francis Okulla ordered that Kyewalabye be produced in court to answer robbery charges. This is the second criminal charge against Kyewalabye. On June 26, he was produced in the same court and charged with assaulting Bernard Mugarura, the LC3 chairman of Ruhinda sub-county.He was granted a cash bail of sh150,000 and sh500,000 not cash after the sector internal security officer, Charles Tusiime, stood surety for him.
