NABISUNSA Girls’ Club 61 re-established their dominance in volleyball crashing St. Joseph SS, Nsambya in the national post primary schools volleyball championship finals here on Sunday.

By Samson Opus in SorotiNABISUNSA Girls’ Club 61 re-established their dominance in volleyball crashing St. Joseph SS, Nsambya in the national post primary schools volleyball championship finals here on Sunday.The champions who exhibited solid spiking display, beat Nsambya Pampas 3-0 infront of a mammoth crowd at Boma ground.A near-perfect setting from Prossy Namuddu and pin-point spiking from Peninah Acayo, Jennifer Acen and Zakia Nalubega was the cutting edge for Club 61.The two-day meet that drew 45 teams countrywide was sponsored by Century Bottlers under their Coca-Cola brand.The win was the seventh for Nabisunsa only beaten to the title in 2000 by Mount St. Mary’s Namagunga.Team coach Osman Lukwago vowed his team will continue winning.“I will always groom youngsters to feed the main team,” said Lukwago, who fielded three teams.The prospect of the school staying in the limelight was highlighted as Nabisunsa’s junior side - the Cubs, played majestically until they were eliminated at the quarterfinals.In the boy’s category, St. Joseph Nagalama beat the odds by defeating Nganwa SSS of Bushenyi 3-0.The success ended the three-year wait for Nagalama who scrapped through with a 2-1 victory over Layibi College of Gulu.Ends
