We spend a lot of money to transport and accommodate our children at Makerere. That money would be saved if we had our own university here”.He said without higher education in Teso there would be no life and a few Iteso would compete favourably on the job market. “Just as we are struggling for first degrees, Buganda region is struggling for masters degrees” he said.He said when the university is officially opened, it would attract students from Japan, India, as well as lecturers. Retired Bishop Geroshum Illukori said, “people in Teso find it difficult to get employed because of qualification, so we should ensure that we are educated.” Ends
