Districts warned on skilled civil servants

By Kyetume KasangaTHE Ministry of Local Government has warned local councils against mishandling skilled civil servants from outside the districts in favour of recruiting unqualified indigenous people under the decentralisation policy.Mrs. Agrippina Amuge Akol, the commissioner for urban local governments, has said many districts had made the working environment difficult for some of their staff, forcing them to leave their jobs.She was speaking at an induction workshop organised by the ministry in Masindi on Thursday.Masindi chairman John Majara, the chief administrative officer Mrs. Margaret Gimogoi, district councillors and district departmental heads attended.
